The secret to theusb 4 port hub is very simple - it has three levels of failsafe protection. In order to arm the Device, you first need to activate switch one. Then, you need to activate switch two. Then (and stay with us here, because this is where it gets a little crazy), you need to activate switch three. Switch three is a key switch, and only authorized personnel should have a copy of the key. Once all three switches are turned on (in order) the Main light will glow red. This means the wireless usb hub is armed and very dangerous.

All that is left to do is flip back the plastic shield and press the red button for an explosive sound effect. But what really happens when you press the button? We’re not sure. Perhaps 15 kittens explode; perhaps your bank account lowers by a fraction of a cent; perhaps you start an interplanetary war trillions of parsecs away by blowing up the caravan of Queen Knorb’l. But one thing is clear - before pushing the button, you must ask yourself, “Do I feel lucky, punk? Well…do I?” Because, who knows, the explosion you hear from thehigh speed usb hub might just be the sound of your brain vaporizing.

That’s technology for you. Something had to be done with all those redundant cassettes, and in a wonderfully retro meets techno moment, a bright spark has neatly inserted a quad set of USB ports into it. Now you can power up all your myriad of USB devices with a blast from the past. There may no longer be tape hanging randomly from telegraph poles around the country anymore, but the icon can live on on your desktop

The E3 video game accessories last month gave gamers a glimpse of new peripherals and accessories that promise to make gaming more natural, engaging and realistic. The peripherals build off the success of the Nintendo Wii’s motion-sensing system and Guitar Hero’s guitar controllers, delivering the next generation in interactive entertainment. We take a look at three of the products and how they’ll change gaming.

Microsoft showed off a video game accessory that will register full body movements of up to four players, allowing people to box, drive a car, skateboard or interact with onscreen characters. The system also includes facial and voice recognition software allowing gamers to sign in and interact with the Xbox 360 console using voice commands.

Project Natal combines a camera with a depth sensor that accurately captures M3 Real series and can recognize faces. There is also a microphone that will be able to locate voices by sound and extract ambient noise.

The Tony Hawk franchise returns with a new skateboard controller that can register the way a player moves, leans, spins and grabs the board. You can play in vertical, street, free skate, speed, trick and challenge modes. Robomodo, which is making the game, said other titles will be able to make use of the controller.

The skateboard controller includes two accelerometers that register tilts, lifts and rotations. There are also four infrared sensors along the edge of the skateboard, allowing the player to initiate board grabs or propel themselves with a kick.

DJ Hero is the younger sibling to Guitar Hero but has potentially more appeal because of its ability to mix music of all genres, not just rock ‘n’ roll. The game comes with a controller that features a spinning turntable with three buttons along with a cross fader, an effects dial and a sampler button. More than the guitar with Guitar Hero, the turntable allows people to come closer to the real thing.

The cross fader allows you to move between songs when prompted. You can add your scratching at key moments. And with the effects dial and sampler button, you can personalize your song in ways that you couldn’t in Guitar Hero.

A memory card is a device offering an easy, fast and reliable way for storing and transferring digital files.
It works like a portable hard disk drive but comes with some superior advantages, since almost every memory card is based on flash memory technology, of having much smaller form factor and being non-volatile and solid state. Making flash memory cards much more durable and reliable than hard disk drives. Memory cards are made by a variety of manufacturers and can be found in different storage capacities and transfer speeds.

As a consumer, it´s easy to get confused by all those different memories. Which memory card should I use for this application? And is one sd memory cards comparative with other kind of devises?
Memory cards can be used by digital cameras, cell phones, camcorders, portable audio, DVD and video players, PDAs, game consoles, laptops, desktops, printers etc. In the future it is expected that all electronic devices will be compatible with memory cards. The driving force, today, behind the growth in memory card demand is the usage of memory cards in mobile phones. In the near future as storage capacity and transfer speed will get higher and prices lower, memory cards will replace most of today’s storage mediums such as the hard drive.
The wholesale sd card is high competitive with many memory card standards and formats that are competing with each other. There are currently more than a dozen of memory card formats available, and they are often not compatible with each other.

The first memory card was introduced in 1990 by the name PCMCIA and latter on even called for PC Card and was mostly used by laptop computers. Thanks to the flash memory’s durability, reliability and low power consumption demand for memory cards grew rapidly. In 1994 the CompactFlash was introduced as a smaller alternative to the PCMCIA/PC Card, mostly to be used in digital cameras. In 1996 the SmartMedia Card was introduced as a competitive standard to CompactFlash also to be employed by digital cameras.

The popularity of memory cards grow rapidly in the beginning of 2000, since usage of memory cards expanded to other consumer electronic products like camcorders, portable audio players, mobile phones etc. This created also the need for much smaller memory cards, therefore the first was the MultiMediaCard standard followed by the SD Memory Card and later on the Memory Stick.
Since most portable devices were becoming smaller and the usage of memory cards in mobile phones were becoming more common some new smaller versions ware introduced. Those were the RS-MMC or MMCmobile, miniSD, and Memory Stick Duo.

In the last years the driving force in the memory card industry shifted to ultra small memory cards, even those mostly to be used in mobile phones. Existed memory card standards introduced ultra small versions, their third form factor, of their existing standards. Those were the microSD/TransFlash, microMMC and the under development Memory Stick Micro. A brand new memory card standard was also introduced, the xD-Picture Card, only to be used by digital cameras. The latest development in the memory card industry was the announcement of the development of the Memory Stick Micro by Sony and SanDisk.

During the above period some other memory card standards have been introduced, like the USB Flash Drive as a replacement for the floppy disk. Some memory cards have also been introduced specifically to be used by game consoles such PS One, PS2, Xbox, Xbox 360 and GameCube. The latest development in the new consoles is the usage of regular memory cards by PS3 and Nintento Revolution.

company named Gresso has entered the luxury mobile phone market. Gresso which appears to be based in Russia have created the aptly named Gresso Luxury Phone. The Gresso Luxury Phone is made of gold and African Blackwood. It may have been a good idea for Gresso to check up on the properties of the materials they use before making a phone out of a wood known for its brittleness. Another interesting point is the size of the screen which looks completely out of proportion. It is interesting how many companies are trying to get into the same market as touch diamond phone

It’s hard to imaginate, what else could surprise the most pretentious and experienced public? Even, if Vertu Diamond Collection does not impress any more. But, it’s possible … Especially …

If it is Gresso phone. The latest phone executed from Blackwood and Gold, thickness of 10 mm.

The case of the phone is made from Gold and African Blackwood, which age is more than 200 years. Every Gresso phone is unique and singular. Two identical phones do not exist, as well as in the nature there are no two identical trees.

Sapphire anti-glare crystal glass frames the surface of the screen. One more feature – the patented covering of the keyboard, not conceding to diamond on durability.

Phone works in all ranges that allows to travel worldwide. It is well equipped technically.

The collection of Gresso phones is submitted by five models. The name of the designer keeps a secret up to official presentation. Only one fact is not latent, that it is well known Italian designer.

Initially, phones will be on sale only in Russia.

DVDPlayer is XBMC’s own in-house developed video-player. DVDPlayer is short for DVD-player but despite its name plays not only DVD-Video’s but all video formats, it was only named “DVDPlayer” because it was originally designed to be a dedicated DVD-Video player, it has however grown to being a much more generic video-player and now plays back most known video containers and codec formats. DVDPlayer supports DVD-Video with menus, from CD/DVD-media, harddrive, network, ISO/IMG-images and RAR/ZIP archives (and even RARed ISO/IMG-images as long as they are in ’stored/archive’ mode and not compressed).

For every month that goes by, the native DVD-Player in philips portable dvd player is becoming more and more usable/stable for the average end-user. However, there is still a lot of work that can be done on it: For one thing there are still quite a few bugs left in it that should be found and fixed, something we really need your help with (see the “Bug Reporting” section below). Another thing is that not all features that you might expect from a normal DVD-player are implemented yet. Some of these features are listed below under “Unimplemented Features” and are not considered to be bugs, that does not mean that features not listed below under can be reported as bugs (something that happens too many times)!

When reporting bugs or problems there are a few things to keep in mind before posting your bug report(s). Bug-reports should be reported at sourceforge.net, this way we are able to track all bugs on one tracker which makes our lifes a lot easier. However, before posting a bug-report there, make sure it is a valid bug-report and not a feature-request or something that is your own fault (ie. user-error). To do that you can start a new topic thread on the 7 portable dvd player to verify this with others. But most importantly, use the search functions first here and here, to make sure you are not posting duplicate bug reports. Duplicate reports/posts of the same bug makes it much harder for us to keep track of all the bug-reports/posts, not doing so will also save you a lot of work.

When reporting a bug there are a few things we will need, if these things are not provided, it will be much harder (and many times impossible) to replicate the problem and find the bug. In the case of an invalid bug-report the report will be closed without us even looking at it.

The most common power source for LED Flashlight is the battery. Many types of batteries are suitable for use in flashlights, such as button cells, alkaline batteries, lithium batteries and rechargeable NiMH and lithium ion batteries. The choice of batteries will depend on the light source used, and will usually play a determining role in the form factor of the led flashlights wholesale.

Some mini led flashlight are solar powered, using the energy generated from a solar cell to charge an on-board battery for later use.

Some LED Flashlight have an electrical generator built into them. One type of dynamo-powered flashlight has a winding crank connected to a small alternator that feeds several diode bridges with their outputs connected in parallel feeding a field effect transistor that charges a capacitor that connects to one or more LEDs. Others generate electricity using electromagnetic induction. They use a strong permanent magnet that can freely slide up and down a tube, passing through a coil of wire as it does. Shaking the flashlight will charge a capacitor or a rechargeable battery that supplies a current to a light source, typically a light-emitting diode or, more rarely, an incandescent light bulb. Such flashlights can be useful during an emergency, when batteries may not be available

Another less common type of flashlight uses a High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamp as the light source. HID lamps work by discharging an electric current between 2 electrodes in a capsule filled with a mixture of metal halide salts and argon, producing an extremely bright light.

Some advantages of this design are that they produce more light than an incandescent flashlight using the same amount of electricity, and the lamp will last longer and is more shock resistant than a regular incandescent bulb. However, they are much more expensive (due to the need for a ballast and other circuitry to start and operate the lamp) and are usually rather bulky. An example of an HID flashlight is the Surefire Hellfire Weaponlight.

Recently, I finally ponied up the funds to get myself a new PSP LCD. To be specific, I bought this thing for the ability to customize it with firmware and all the cool little addons that are coming out every day. If you know where to look for them, you can score video camera attachments, gps dongles, and there are even rumors of a keyboard coming out soon. You’ll be able to video conference with Skype and then turn around and write and email in a flash. And the GPS? Don’t even get me started on how freaking cool that is.

Only I ran into a problem just after buying this thing. I managed to get the one PS2 momery card that is unhackable. No dice. No go. The processor/motherboard combo built into it does not accept the first few lines of code using a TOOL battery for custom firmware installation, so I was stuck with a PSP that I couldn’t play around with. Now, don’t get me wrong, I can still play my games and watch movies on it. But I’m a fiddler. Meaning I like to fiddle around with things and see how far I can take my curiosity. So why did I buy this Dreambox?

So I started asking around and found someone who had a broken PSP Phat. The original 1000 model. The screen isn’t so much widescreen, the speakers are on the bottom instead of on the front, and the WiFi switch is on the side rather than the bottom, but other than that, there’s nothing really amazingly different about them. Except for the size of the grips. That’s what makes them a phat (rather than fat. Wouldn’t want to make consumers think there’s something wrong with it. Call it Pretty, Hot And Tempting instead.)

So this PSP original has a broken LCD, a missing battery, and the thumb pad is gone from the analog joystick. Also, no memory stick. So I got it for mere pennies compared to buying a new one or a fully functional one on eBay. Hell, even the broken ones on eBay are still over $50.00, so I feel like a winner. So I hit up eBay and found an LCD supplier who sold me a new screen for $25 with free shipping. I also ordered a 6-pack of the joystick thumbpads (the fewest I could find) for $1.99, a new PSP battery, and an 8GB Pro Duo for $21.00. I also came across a seller in Hong Kong who had the clear vinyl screen protectors for $1.99 as well. Dope.

Taking apart and repairing your PSP is really easy, so don’t be intimidated. After you see how easy you’ll think twice before sending it off to Sony for a month, or to some sleazy repair tech who only wants to charge you 60 bucks for a repair that takes 20 minutes, tops.

So let’s get down to business…

A USB hub is a device that allows many USB devices to be connected to a single usb port hub on a host computer or another hub.

Wireless usb hub are often built into equipment, such as keyboards, monitors, printers, or computers. When a computer has several USB ports they might all be part of one internal USB hub rather than each port having independent USB hardware.

Physically separate USB hubs come in a wide variety of form factors: from boxes (looking similar to a network hub as shown above) connectible with a long cable, to small designs that can be directly plugged into a USB port (see the ‘compact design’ picture). In the middle case, there are “short cable” hubs which typically use an integral 6 inch cable to slightly distance a small hub away from physical port congestion and of course increase the number of available ports.

Also available are so-called “sharing hubs”, which effectively are the reverse of a USB hub, allowing several PCs to access (usually) a single peripheral. They can either be manual, effectively a simple switch-box, or automatic, incorporating a mechanism that recognises which PC wishes to use the peripheral and switches accordingly. They cannot grant both PCs access at once. Some models, however, have the ability to control multiple peripherals separately (e.g. 2 PCs and 4 peripherals, assigning access separately). Only the simpler switches tend to be automatic, and this feature generally places them at a higher price point too.

A USB network with many devices requires one or more hubs connected to each other. USB hubs can extend a USB network a maximum of five times. The USB specification requires that bus-powered hubs may not be connected in series to other bus-powered hubs.

USB ports are often closely spaced, so that plugging a device into one port may physically block an adjacent port, particularly when the plug is not part of a cable but is integral to a device such as a USB flash drive. A horizontal array of horizontal sockets, may be easy to fabricate, but can sometimes cause say only two out of four ports to be usable (depending on plug width).

Port arrays in which the port orientation is perpendicular to the array orientation generally have fewer blockage problems. ‘Octopus’ hubs (with each socket at the end of a very short cable), or ’star’ hubs (with each port pointing in a different direction, as pictured) avoid this problem completely.

Aside from practical layouts, novelty USB hubs have also been produced, such as one shaped like the TARDIS, a fictional time-travelling space ship from the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who, or another shaped like a nuclear missile launch console complete with a big red button (which shuts down the PC).

Laptop computers may come with many USB ports built in, but an external USB hub can consolidate several everyday devices (like a mouse and a printer) into a single port for quick attachment and removal.

This stylish portable speaker system is ideal for use whether you are mobile or computer speakers in one location. Great for use in the office, at home or on the road, the Travelmate is a perfect solution to projecting audio signals when headphones just aren´t enough.

This compact and home theater speakers system is the perfect item to take with you when traveling because its foldable feature makes it easy to pack away until you need it. The speakers will provide full stereo sound and runs on its own four AAA batteries so you don´t have to worry about draining power from your iPod, MP3 player or laptop.

Normally, all the outdoors needs for a soundtrack is nature itself. Wind blowing, leaves rustling, birds chirping - you get the picture.

But every so often, the situation requires Eine Kleine Nachtmusik. Or Hank Williams. Maybe you got stuck with setting up the tent or doing the dishes. Perhaps you’re watching fireworks from a kayak and would like a little 1812 Overture. Whatever the scene, the iMainGo 2 portable speaker system has you and your MP3 player covered.

Smaller than most paperback books, iMainGo 2 is hinged like a clamshell that holds the music player on one side and has titanium speakers on the other. The clear plastic face allows you to control any iPod-based system without unzipping the case. You can also use the unit to play music from most cell phones or laptops.

Minus the player, iMainGo 2 weighs about 9 ounces and runs on four AAA batteries. It has a power switch to save the juice, although you do have to unzip the case to get to it.
